Artist: Hailee Steinfeld, Grey, Zedd
The Pitch Perfect star is back again, and she is slaying it! Hailee's new single "Starving" was released on July, and has become very successful since then. The song starts with an acoustic guitar, but as the chorus approaches the beat fastens and then it unexpectedly drops, with a really cool electronical part, thanks to Zedd. Although this is an electronic song, it also contains a slower, acoustic guitar part it may also be enjoyable to people who like other genres besides electronic, like pop and country. There is still no music video for the song; however, rumors say there will be one premiering later in September.
Song: "Sucker For Pain"
Artist: Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa & Imagine Dragons w/ Logic & Ty Dolla $ign ft X Ambassadors
This. Song. Is. Amazing. Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Imagine Dragons, Logic, and Ty Dolla $ign's new jam for the Suicide Squad Soundtrack has achieved incredible positions on the charts during these last few weeks. It has peaked at 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is currently at number 10 on Spotify's Global Top 50. It’s fast tempo makes it enjoyable for anyone who likes a speedy beat . The song is very well sung by all artists featuring it and the lyrics are incredibly addicting. I just can't get this song out of my head, I keep hearing the chorus "I torture you" over and over again. Considering this is a rap song, and there are a lot of rap haters out there, it is possible that many people won't appreciate it as much as I do, however, for anyone who likes Drake and Eminem, it is going to blow their minds. I love every aspect about this song, as I have mentioned, which is why I am giving it 5 stars. The music video has already premiered, and it is mostly showing scenes from the Suicide Squad movie, but we can also see Lil Wayne and some other singers trapped on a cage like the characters of the movie.
Artist: Tory Lanez
This song's smooth yet fast beat and lyrics convey a message of placidity and insightfulness in our minds. Tory Lanez' soft voice comforts our ears creating a melody that quickly receives our approval after we hear the chorus for the first time. "LUV" is an R&B song, and its lyrics are about falling deeply in love with someone you know is "the one", which is a repetitive theme in R&B songs, as we can see in songs such as "Needed Me" by Rihanna and "Gangsta" by Kehlani, that all make reference to the same "I love you, you love me" situation. Although the constant use of the word "love" becomes cheesy and repetitive, it really gets into our heads and by the end of the song you can't help but sing along "Mmm, ah, mmm, ah, mmm, if you let me love you". Tory Lanez is a Hip-hop artist who recently gained popularity with his single "Say it" from the album I Told You, and has just released the new deluxe version of this album in August 19, which contains the song "LUV" and many others. I gave the song 4 stars because although the beat is very smooth, I don't think it's entertaining at all (I'm an electronic/rap music person), to an extent where it starts to get really boring. However, all the other characteristics of the song are great, the vocals are awesome and the melody is definitely addicting.
