The first Lifesavers beach cleanup at Barraca do Louro was a success! With a group of more than fifteen participants, the Lifesavers sweeped the beach and ended up with a large bag of trash, which reflected our efforts. After the beach cleanup, there was a CPR tutorial given by the Stella Maris lifeguard team. At the end of the day, under a blue, cloudless sky, and a glassy ocean, everyone felt a bit lighter, knowing they had done a good deed.
To replicate this success, the Lifesavers scheduled another beach cleanup at Jaguaribe beach for last Friday the 13th, but due to the bad weather, it was canceled. Nonetheless, the Lifesavers are already planning a future beach cleanup, so stay aware, and don't miss out on the next opportunity to make the world a cleaner place!
